Born like a vegetable, totally healed then went to heaven for 6 WEEKS

This is an amazing story of a young lady we met called Ni Salient in Shillong India. When we heard her story we were both skeptical and astonished. So asked if we could go in to the mountains to meet her since she was only about an hours drive away. We were told there was no need as the lady had already heard we were here and would be attending one of our meetings the next day! The team that were organizing our meetings knew her very well as they are in the process of building an orphanage and some of the children will come from among the little ones she ministers to at 5am every morning.  

We had heard from the team that in 2008 at only 16 years of age the Lord had told Ni Salient He would be taking her to heaven for six weeks, that she would leave at a specific day and time and would return at a specific day and time and that He had many things to show her. Having heard & seen many many amazing things in our life my wife & I both agreed that we had never heard anything like this before. 

There is currently a raft of book titles “Heaven is so real” “90 minutes in heaven” “28 minutes in Hell” and others. Well we had already met and become good friends with Dan in South Africa who spent two days in hell, this was confirmed by numerous witnesses. His pastor had to change the funeral service to a baptismal service because Dan demanded that he be baptised straight away. Dan preached and testified at his own funeral service that Christ was real and so was hell and if you do not know the first one you will soon know the second one.

But six weeks in Heaven? Well this was something entirely different, could it even be true? We all know that God can do anything He wants but there is no scriptural precedent for a prolonged absence from the body whilst the soul visits Christ in the Glory

THE AROMA OF CHRIST

On meeting Ni Salient for the first time you can tell that there is something strikingly different about her. The gentle yet sincere smile, the humility and evident purity in dress and in manner. Her immediate care for everyone present, made everyone feel special as if they were the only person present, and she did that in such a simple way. Before we could “Prove all things, test the spirits and discern the credibility of this 22 year old girl, one thing was for certain and that was that the aroma of Christ was certainly radiating from her life.

THE BLIND SEE & THE DEAF HEAR

Anyway, there was a lot going on in that meeting, hundreds consecrated their lives to Christ, many healings and baptisms in the Holy Spirit, two blind people testified to healing with one screaming “I can see, I can see”. A man with throat cancer and deaf in one ear testified that he could clearly hear and that he felt a pressure go out of his throat and that his throat was much more comfortable.

COME AND SEE WHAT GOD IS DOING

So there was little time to talk. However, Ni Salient did invite us to drive up the mountain the following morning (a week ago today) and join her 5am prayer and worship time. For several years now 80 or so children in her village gather outside her door very early every morning to be led in Praising the Lord in song & dance.

Due to unforeseen circumstances and carsickness some of the team arrived at the top of that twisting, winding track late at around 6.30am. Most of the children had gone and only 20 or so that did not have immediate duties in the rice fields or cooking the family breakfast remained. It’s the custom here that the six to eight year olds are often the family cook and child minder for their younger siblings whilst the rest of the family sow & harvest rice in the terraced paddies.

WHOS BEEN TO HEAVEN – 6 LITTLE HANDS SHOT UP

We took off our shoes and placed them alongside the neat row of miniature flip-flops outside the prayer room. This concrete block room had been erected by the community in appreciation for Ni Salients life and the impact that her walk with the Lord had brought to the community. Inside was the remainder of the children that had stayed back to sing and pray with us. My word, the surprise at the power and volume these little ones could generate as they sang loud with all their hearts to the Lord. Later, Ni salient asked for a show of hands of all those that had been to heaven. Quickly, six or seven little hands shot up into the air! Is this for real you may ask? Jo & I have now met so many people who have visited heaven each with an identical story that mirrors my own experiences that this display of hands in response to such an incredible questions does not surprise us but does certainly bless us.

How many tasted physical fruit there, Nisaliant asked again? Four hands again shot up straight away. One of our team that is involved with the building of the orphanage that Nisaliant will send some of her children to told us that one of those little hands belonged to an orphan who’s mother had recently committed suicide right in front of her child by setting her self ablaze, another, was left alone when the mother had to appear in the valley court for theft and went straight to jail with no one to care for the child. My word, what a morning we were having already.

BREAKFAST & A CAR CRASH

After some photo’s Nisaliants parents and family asked if we would stay so that they could serve us a breakfast that they had prepared. How they managed to produce all the wonderful Indian food that they did and where they got it from must remain a mystery. But we ate and enjoyed and all got to know each other better. They had never had white people enter their village before so we were somewhat of a novelty. As we spoke an accident happened directly outside the rustic home of the steep track. An ancient US army jeep, actually looked like something that belonged in a transport museum had careered without brakes up the embankment to avoid hitting a truck coming up the hill. We broke off to run out and offer prayer and first aid if required. No casualties, just bruises. Soon, the truck continued up the hill and the ancient jeep (still without brakes) continued its journey down the hill. We returned to the home to continue our chat as the family now served us Jack fruit and pomegranate form off the trees in their hillside garden.

GOD GAVE A CAR

A short distance from the pomegranate tree is a makeshift lean to sheltering a small car from the now rising and very hot sun. “Whose is the car I ask, being quite surprised to even see a family up the mountain own a car considering the evident poverty that afflicted the community there. Nisaliant replied “oh, a man that was dying came to the house one day, he had a terminal liver disease and the hospital could no longer help him, so he asked if I would pray and ask God if He would help him, so I prayed for him and God kindly healed him completely. The man left and asked the Lord what he should give to me …. He said the Lord told him to buy me a car so he did, but my prayer was for free, I cannot heal anybody. It’s been there for 4 years and I cannot drive, so occasionally my father or my brother will drive it”. So we addressed the “Cant drive” problem right away and her driving lessons in the next village begin next week.

THE MOTHER’S TESTIMONY

As we settled again around the hardwood homemade table in that rustic, rural mountain home I asked the mother and father what was there understanding on Nisaliants claim that she went to heaven for 6 weeks. The mother was very quick to answer and began to relay events regarding Nisaliants birth & life that I had not even heard of yet. Someone had mentioned before that this girl who can now pray and preach with amazing authority & power used to have a stutter. If we were glorifying the Lord before, we were glorifying Him even more now as we listened to what she told us.

She looked and pointed towards the sloping gravel track outside their simple house. She said that when she was carrying Nisaliant she slipped one day on that track and injured herself quite badly, breaking ribs among other things. She wondered if it would affect the child in her womb never imagining just how much it really had affected her until she was born

SILENT NIGHT

Ni salient was born 24th December 1991 Her name means silent night because she was a Christmas night baby. She continued, “We soon found out that Nisaliant was born totally blind, mute and deaf in one ear and completely paralysed down one side of her body. As she grew she was little more than a vegetable requiring constant care and attention”. A luxury, which is not a readily available in a hard working, poverty stricken rural Indian mountain village.

NISILIANT HEARS THE GOSPEL

One day whilst Nisaliant was in her 14^th year, the local pastor of the Presbyterian mountain community stopped by to visit the family on one of his frequent visits. But this time he took the opportunity to share the gospel into Nisaliants one good ear. Not knowing if she heard or even understood he left it at that. But though Nisaliant was severely handicapped there was nothing wrong with her mind. She gently broke in to her mothers explanation of events to add that she had heard and understood everything he had said, but knew that she was a virtual prisoner in her own body while the rest of the family was free to come and go and do as they pleased. She had to wait in the darkness of blindness, the frustration of dumbness and the incarceration of paralysis before she could be moved, fed, carried to the outside toilet or cleaned. Many of her needs were unknown by the family and therefore unfulfilled.

IF YOU WILL HEAL ME I WILL PREACH TO THE FAR CORNERS OF THE EARTH

Late one night, lying in her bed she considered this gospel hope offered by a loving God and decided that she would talk with Him directly, offering Him a deal – Nisaliant prayed in her heart “If You will heal me I will go to the ends of the earth and will preach your gospel”. What happened next is an amazing proof of the grace, kindness and omnipotence of our God. Jesus - Gods son appeared to her in a vision and even though at that point she could not see she knew that what was unfolding was very real. Gently He first touched her eyes, then her ear, then her lips. Next he reached out His two hands to take hers and then gently but firmly pulled her to her feet. In one moment Nisaliant was healed and one moment later she ran to her parents adjoining bedroom and was jumping and dancing and singing hallelujah I’m healed, I’m healed…. Interestingly, Nisaliant could speak but with a stutter. 

So, with the “stutter” explained I now wanted to know about the 6 weeks in heaven?

First Nisaliant spoke and said, “after that healing I began to encounter God in a very real way. I loved to be always worshipping in His presence. He told me many things regarding the spiritual realm. When I was 16 years of age He told me one night that He was going to take me to heaven for 40 seconds, “”40 seconds I asked the Lord””, “”Yes 40 seconds you will come with me to heaven but 40 seconds in heaven is 40 days on earth””. Then she explained that the Lord had told her that she should write down instructions for her mother during the absence of her spirit from her body, she wrote down everything that the Lord had explained to her.

DO NOT TOUCH MY BODY

The instructions for her family are still there on two pages in Nisaliants home today.

Among other things they read

·         I will be gone on this day and time

·         I will return exactly 40 days later at this day and time

·         You must not touch my body

·         I will not require food or water

·         You must not inform or allow the media

The mother picked up the story again and said that her daughter had told her she would be going to heaven for 40 seconds and was that ok with her. What she didn’t explain to her mother at that time so as to not cause her alarm was that on earth time that meant 6 weeks. The mother said yes, yes, that’s ok, never imagining for a moment what was actually going to happen.

Nisaliant rearranged her humble rough-hewn timber bedroom walls with all the white sheets she could. She laid out the two papers with all the instructions that the Lord had given her for her mother. She lay down and then simply seemed to fall asleep, waking up in a beautiful and bright place where the people all glowed and the angels were distinguished because they had wings and the saints do not.

HEAVEN & HELL

Now we had a two way narrative, the mother explaining what was happening here on earth as she agreed “no media” but in concern as to what the familiar community would think when they noticed that their miracle child Nisaliant was not going about. She allowed the neighbors in to see Nisaliant lying motionless in her bed. She was of course worried that the dear girl was not moving, eating or drinking, but testified that from the third day on her body began to glow and looked very healthy indeed.

Meanwhile Nisaliant is in the glory and the Lord is talking with her and showing her many things. He explains that she will see and learn many things in that place but that also she will be taken to the gates of hell and must understand and take note of the many things she will see in that place also.

PRESBYERTERIANS IN HELL

On being brought to the gates of hell she sees and understands that there are many Presbyterians there. Since this is the only church she has ever known she is confused by this and asks the angel that is guiding her if there are many Presbyterians in hell?

The angel replied, “Yes there are many. She was shocked, so she asked the angel again “are there any Presbyterians in heaven”? The angel replied “There are no Presbyterians in heaven”, now she was really shocked “No Presbyterians in heaven”? Who is in heaven then”? The angel replied “There no Presbyterians in heaven there are only saints in heaven there are no other religions or denominations of men in heaven”…

I WANTED TO STAY

She told us its always light there, there is no darkness ever, the time went so quickly, you do not notice time, it seemed very soon that the Lord told me it was time to return, I did not want to go, I wanted to stay.

AT THE EXACT TIME AND DAY

The mother began to speak again….. There was no movement of Nisaliants body for 6 weeks; from the exact time she said she would depart to heaven to the exact date and time the Lord told her she would return to earth. The matter was the talk of the entire village that had continued to visit the family home throughout the six weeks to see Nisaliant lying still and glowing. With baited interest they gathered as a community in and around the home for the precise hour of her return drinking the local sweet tea that the family had provided for them.

WE HEARD ANGELS

Suddenly, as if at once everyone began to say that the tea tasted better than they had ever experienced, then the tea in the cups began to sparkle, what strange thing was this? Then someone looking up excitedly began to declare to everybody else present that the whole sky was sparkling. Then, came a sound that could only be described as the beating of many angels’ wings. Everyone heard the singing of that well-known chorus Allelujah! Allelujah! The angels sang in the heavens above for about the space of 30 minutes.

FIRST SHE MOVED THIS WAY….

The mother stood by the bedside, aware that outside all her friends, family & nieghbours of many years standing were experiencing and excitedly discussing the phenomenon of the sweet shiny tea, the sparkling sky, the beating of many angels wings and the heavenly chorus signing Allelujah!

At 6pm exactly, Ni Salient moved her upper body slightly to the right then to the left.. then she opened her eyes....

She said, even though I was wrapped in a white sheet it seemed very dark compared to the bright garment I had been wearing and grown used too. The Lord had told her, bathe straight away and only eat soft food. The stutter was gone. There are many more things that was shared regarding this 40 days visit to Heaven, far too much to be written here other than to close with this

A LIFE OF MIRACLES BEGINS

Shortly after this she had a vision where an angel told her she had to speak in tongues and he wrote down a message for her. At that point she didn't understand what the message was for, BUT as more and more people heard about her they brought a woman to her who was totally paralysed ...couldn't see, hear or speak. She cried out to The Lord and He said to her, hold the woman's hand and pray. As she did this she had a vision of the message that the angel wrote and she began to pray the words out as she did this woman rose up, completely healed.

A little lame boy came next. Same thing happened he got full use of his legs. Because of these two miracles many people came to The Lord in her village.

THEY KILL CHRISTIANS THERE

The Lord instructed her that she had to go to a small place in India where there was severe persecution for Christians..... in fact it was the place where just a few years ago a British missionary and his 7 & 5 year old sons were attacked in his car and then had been burnt alive in their car. She refused twice. Each time she refused she had a dream

The first one she dreamt that Hindu priests was flaying her back. She woke up with black bruises on her back.

In the second dream she was having a burning torch forced into her mouth. The next morning she woke up with bad blisters in her mouth. She knew The Lord was warning her so she finally obeyed. The Lord gave her the names of two people in that place that he said would be her Ananias (the man in Strait St who prayed for the apostle Paul) and Aaron (who was Moses mouthpiece). She then went with her mother and 2 uncles, found these 2 people that The Lord had told her about and amazingly heard herself preaching in the local dialect that she had never learned before. When she returned to her hometown she couldn't speak or understand it anymore.

NISALIENT WILL TRAVEL US

By Gods grace next month Nisaliant will join us as she begins to fulfill her promise to God that she will preach the gospel in the far corners of the earth if He would heal her.

She wondered how that would happen as she has no contacts and no resources. In fact she hardly knows any countries. She said that the Lord had told her she will preach to young people in Wales, and then she said “have you heard of that place, do you know where that place Wales is”? I was instantly reminded of that young man Evan Roberts and the small group of teenagers that God used to usher in the Welsh revival in 1904.

I replied “Yes, Nisaliant, I know exactly where that place is and we will bring you there.

ABOUT THE ORPHANAGE

The reason we went to India is that one day in China someone passed me a phone and said please say hello to my sister, who I had never seen before, I didn’t know who she was or anything about her. When the lady at the other end of the phone said hello I immediately received a prophetic word for her. As I gave it, quite frankly it meant little to me, as I didn’t understand what it was in reference to at all. But the lady on the other end of the phone began to wail and cry but once a degree of composure was restored she eventually explained the desperate need of the orphans in that place and she had worked hard to organize an orphanage for the safety and protection of these children. Apparently that morning the person that was trying to assist them in the development of the orphanage had to bow out leaving her clueless and hopeless as to what to do next.  She had cried out to the Lord in desperation and the Lord had heard as all her answers were received in the fervent prophecy that she received. As a result we were invited to visit which we did last week and Praise God saw many signs & wonders. We were asked to do a teaching for a Christian outreach program, during which I prophesied over the sound engineer, it turned out he was a Hindu and immediately wanted to repent and give his life to Christ there and then since the word had penetrated his heart.

As regards safety for orphans, we have never witnessed such a place for the worst child abuse you can imagine. I read one local paper and ever page was another case of child rape.
