By Gods grace, most of those that join us on outreach will experience Jesus heal the sick through them in His name and power. Vennie gave us an update this morning on one of the first people she ever prayed with for healing after coming alongside us just a few months back.  The situation here was that early one morning, just before 6 am she was heading as usual, to teach at the Muslim School she has worked at for twenty years when she received a call from a friend requesting her to come urgently to the hospital and pray for a man that someone had tried to kill.

Vennie’s schedule was tight already and she really did not have time to go, the voice on the other end of the line pleaded with her “he doesn’t have long”. Ok, Vennie agreed, knowing the repercussions she would face for being late to take her class. Quickly she took a tricycle down the dusty track from her place to the hospital 5 kilometres away.

On arrival, things did not look good. The man had been attacked in the dark, his face was smashed and he had three deep critical knife wounds to the throat. The hospital staff informed her that the man’s situation was dire, he had lost a lot of blood and typically these kind of wounds are fatal.

Vennie had heard our teaching that God will prove His word is true by healing and of numerous healing testimonies both from ourselves and our great friends Howard & Leslie Ferris from Oregon. She had nothing to lose, they virtually said he would die soon anyway and besides she was late for school already. She prayed a simple prayer asking for God’s mercy and healing power to touch the dying man and left the hospital.

At 10 am she received another call from her very excited friend to say the victim’s wounds had miraculously closed and that he was already well o the way to recovery.

And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Mark 11 vs 22,23
