I just received another text from Jetter, one of the young
men that outreach with our teams. Yesterday he said his group
was being thrown out of the village they were evangelising in as two particular men no longer allow them to preach the gospel in there place.
While we are praying about the best thing to do the situation has deteriorated even worse as last night someone set the house on fire where the team were staying.
And one of the newly baptised converts, has just been
shot dead.
This is not typical of all outreaches at all, some are more high
risk than others. For example there is a "Mega Church" in
that place - The proud name above its door states "The Guardians of Satan". That will give you an idea of the spiritual
atmosphere of that area.
Please remember young Jetter and his equally young team in prayer. His last text to me was from the police station.
We haven't heard anything else since.
Pray for their safety and that they they are not frightened off missions for life.
