Pastors painful knee condition gone

We returned from the mountain tribe full of faith and joy and the continued goodness of God. There is not much else that fills the heart with such joy as seeing Jesus at work among lost sheep that sit in darkness. The joy of seeing their sins forgiven and their further joy when Christ heals their sick bodies is incomparable. Success in business or your favourite team winning cannot compare to being used by Jesus to preach His word and heal the sick. We see the saddest eyes suddenly sparkle or glisten with tears of joy as He touches their lives through us. What a privilege.

An amazing lunch that had been laid on for us, you know, sometimes, you can actually put on a few pounds during this hard missionary life. It’s quite humbling as often the people who prepare this spread have nothing and may even have borrowed to provide this. Worse, they will not accept any repayment even when we physically attempt to force it upon them as a gift! Such grace.

We had been given permission to preach in the school open air basketball court. We had preached there October last year with great success to the students. Here we are back again, school is closed for end of term but the teachers and locals come to see what the commotion is. Again they gospel is preached with power and many signify their wish to be saved. Prayer for the sick as a confirmation of God’s word is offered and twelve or so avail themselves for that.

One quite elegant looking woman said that she had a liver condition then during prayer began to tremble very strongly, and when the tremble became a violent shake we encouraged her to sit down which she did. Ten minutes or so later she stood bolt upright, no more shaking and declared “something just lifted off my liver right up through my body – I’m healed”
