What Highways, Byways & Compelling Looks Like?

Mt 22:10  So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many
as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.

Jun preaching at our 2nd outreach of the morning

The second Outreach

Mt 22:9  Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage.
The rain had stopped, the area was far busier and even the sun began to shine. In fact I got sunburned at that one. The people responded better and the preaching was easier. Many gave their lives to Christ and many were healed of various diseases, aches and pains. You’ll read about the boy with the toothache later. This place also desires a regular bible study.

Third Outreach

All that remains of a house destroyed by the Typhoon
Below this lives a paralysed woman, her husband & 2 children
This was another dirty area at the side of a mud track. All around us hut reconstruction was going on. This was a mixed Muslim & Catholic area. The chairman of this community came and introduced himself and joined us for the duration of the time we remained in his area. He repeatedly asked questions about God and if it were possible to get him a bible as he wanted to know more about what we were teaching about Jesus Christ.

We began to share in his place and people from both communities came to listen intently.
A few Muslim youths came to mock but were later very friendly. The residents of one nearby house who I assume were also Muslims, asked if I’d like to join them for a coffee. This is a good sign of welcome and acceptance.

The chairman then asked if we would be willing to visit several of his constituents homes to pray for the very sick, which we were happy to do. He led us to one home that was nothing more than the former corrugated roof of the home that was, it was all that survived the storm. Living under this I metre high 3m x 3m pitch was a man, his wife and two children. The woman had been badly injured by flying debris during the typhoon and she now lay limp and paralysed. We prayed for ten minutes or so but witnessed no immediate sign of healing. We are not put off by this as many receive their healing the next day. Now we had to get back doen the hill.

The chairman, Jo & JM going back down the hill
We were heading back to the van, when a lady with a small store in her home called and offered us bread and coffee. This is really a good sign! As we were leaving his patch the chairman asked if he could join us on other outreaches in the mountain. Of course we would be delighted. Though he was not able to show up his sincerity and hunger could not be concealed. We will follow this man up next time. Such favour in this place and all desire home bible studies.. Pray that Christians will stop hiding in churches and do the work of alabourers.
