Angels & Demons – The battle for a soul

 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God

 over one sinner that repenteth. Luke 15:10

And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind

 on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed

in heaven. Mat 10:19
 

We have learnt not to lay our faith in early reactions of the community to our presence or preaching. Many of our outreaches begin cold and hard with little response for the spectators. But, we know by experience, that as we persevere with holding forth the word of God there becomes a change in the atmosphere above and around us as invisible angelic beings begin to displace the hitherto, unchallenged and invisible demonic entities. Never ceases to surprise me as a lightness becomes clearly visible on the faces and in the attitudes of the listeners who are usually growing in number by the minute.

What happens in the natural is a mirror of the invisible realm and soon the battle begins in earnest. Though unseen by human eyes we know that angels are engaging local demons of the darkness in battle for the eternal destiny of the souls of this place. Why is it that Christ said “angels rejoice over one sinner that repents”?Lk 15v10 Is because those angels knew the battle they had experienced in order for that soul to be “delivered out of the power of darkness into Christ’s kingdom” Col 1v13? Rescued from the power of Satan into the power of God? Acts 26 v18. There is much about the salvation of a soul that only eternity will reveal but scripture certainly alludes to battles fought and victories lost or won over every soul that hears the gospel.
