COVID-19 & CHRISTIANITY - Good or Bad?

COVID-19 & CHRISTIANITY

PRUNING – REFINING – PURIFYING

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
1 JOHN 2:15,16

Bearing in mind that the bible tells us ALL things work together for good to those that love God and are called according to His purposes.. This means that we can give thanks for the positive outcomes in EVERYTHING Even in this present & unpleasant growth pang period that we are experiencing across the earth at this time. Whatever Satan intends for evil, Father will turn it for His glory & our good.

One of the many facets of this multipronged agenda, would appear to be the dissolving of capitalist independence and the crashing of the economy. How can that be good? Several reasons:

a) It will bring about the fear of the Lord and a returning to Him in these uncertain times

b) It will expose fear & unbelief in our hearts & hopefully bring us to a place of
repentance & faith.

c) The knock of reduced income will cause a reset of what we can still afford and pay for, what we actually need.

d) Humility & Lowliness – Fathers has already commanded us to walk in humility & lowliness. Therefore our pride will need to humble down. This may mean that perhaps the fancy car has to go, maybe the house & home has been a source of boastful pride – Maybe many worldly “things” that we hold dear will be consumed in the refining fires? Perhaps the clothes budget and the latest phone purchase will have to be revisited? Don’t be too surprised if the Lord visits the idolatry of brand names that have become important to you.

b) Expect the TV, Netflix, Sky & worldly music to be sent to the altar of repentance & sacrifice. And for some the tone of their online activity may well be tried by fire also.

In closing. If this present moment does not cause us all to stop and take stock of just where we are and where this is all going AND absolutely rededicate our selves to God, then our hearts are hard and we have much bigger and eternal issues at stake than Covid-19
