JERRY HEALED IN THE ICU – FROM COMA TO TAXI HOME IN 5 DAYS
Yesterday was very God-incidental, as we drove to a mall in Phnom Penh to share time & prayer with dear Chellie, Nancy & team. As we walked thru the mall, I saw an ice cream shop, part of a chain that we provide counters for. So, we crossed the mall to examine the quality of the work on their serving tops.
Surprisingly sat outside the store was a pastor friend Julius, from 200 miles away. In a city of 1.5 million, what’s the chances that we’d meet him?!!? He explained that he’d drove down to see another mutual leader, Jerry from USA, who picked up sepsis when cleaning up filthy flood water in the village a week ago.
Jerry is in his late 70s but looks younger than me 😳
He has planted 2,000 house churches here over the last 20yrs and trained up 5000+ leaders. What a humble & mighty man of God. Julius explained that after one week he was still in ICU with leptospirosis, which resulted in major organ failure - kidneys, heart & lungs. We asked if we’d be given access to go pray for him? As the reply was Yes, we immediately began to pray for his healing enroute to the hospital…
Whilst there, dear Jerry was in and out of consciousness. His lovely wife Wilma has spent 24hours a day for 6 days in a small chair at his bedside.
By Fathers grace we anointed Jerry with oil and rebuked sickness & death, he was conscious throughout and we trust for full & quick recovery.
PROGRESS FOR JERRY – 5 Days later Jerry is in a taxi on his way home
