THE SPIRIT OF INFATUATION

The basis of this short article is because
over many years, I have personally experienced attacks by this spirit of
infatuation. I have also seen many mighty believers fall from a seemingly
unmovable walk to a state of being fallen, wrecked and then gone. Slipping into
obscurity just like that. Leaving family and friends devastated in the carnage they
leave behind them. Shocking, is an adequate definition of such an incidence.
Tragically, there are many. I cannot now count, or how many counseling sessions
I’ve sat through or prayers we have prayed for victims that have some how been
injured through a direct or indirect attack that began with the arrow of a
‘Spirit of infatuation”.
I have not only sat through counseling and prayer, but many,
many exorcisms and angry demons who will boast that their entry point into the
victims life was the outcome of their victims susceptibility and cooperation
with a spirit of infatuation. We should not underestimate this siren devil and
the temptation that they will quickly flood any soul with that does not race
towards God’s provided “way of escape”.
Last evening I read on the blog of a very credible doctor of a personal
experience of infatuation that he humbly recorded. His story is below.
My next incident with heaven came shortly
thereafter my first one. I saw a "PERFECT" woman. I had never
seen one before and was totally stunned. Here is my story. I was in a grocery
store in Austin, Texas. As I walked around the corner of an isle, I saw a woman
selling Smirnoff Ice Watermelon Mimosa, but was she a real woman? She was so
absolutely perfect that I thought she was a mannequin, so I told her, "You
are perfect, are you a mannequin? She smiled and I instantly knew she wasn't a
mannequin. We talked for a bit about her looking perfect, and she said, "I
get a lot of that." I felt a bit stupid, but I looked at her and looked at
her and was falling madly in love with what I saw. I knew I had to leave
immediately, but I did buy some stuff from her. As I left I blew her a kiss and
she blew me a kiss in return and we both smiled at each other. There was only
about a 50-year age difference between us. I will never drink my purchase, but
will keep it forever as a reminder of her. What does a perfect woman look like?
I Googled it and I cried all the way home.
Hmm! He also wrote on his blog that his wife of many years
without warning – left and divorced him, disconnecting all contact with him. In
fact his son died and she kept that information from him for a year. That
suggests deep wounds and distrust. I don’t wish to cast aspersion at the dear
man, or look too much into whether or not she left him before or after? I don’t
know. But case in point, and without adding two & two to arrive at five, is
it just possible that any person open to “The perfect woman” infatuation, then
following it up with direct and forward conversation, is in great danger of stressing
their marriage with an unfaithful heart? The author has much understanding and
personal painful experience along these lines. Christ warns us that adultery
begins in the heart not the body.
But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to
lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart – Matt 5:28
Adultery is usually hard on the heels of its close cousin “infatuation”.
Scripture records that our inner victories are the outcome of decisions and
commitments we make to keep our selves in check from blindly following subtle
onslaughts of the enemies’ devices:
Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her
take thee with her eyelids For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to
a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life – Prov 6:25,
26
For the record, this is not all about the female alone being the
temptress, it can and does work both ways. Neither is infatuation limited to a
person, it could be an object. However, in this writer’s experience, it is
predominantly that. Although God quite clearly spells out in the Ten
Commandments – Do not be covertness or infatuated over anything.
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not
covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his
ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's – Ex 20:17
Easier said then done right! We live in a world of amazing
sparkle and beauty, more so now than the days the commandments were given. And
yet the same principles of defense and overcoming apply:
He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city
that is
broken down, and without walls – Prov 25:28
If we cannot, or will not exercise self-control then there
simply is no wall to stop the enemy entering our personal space. When
undisciplined eyes are closely connected to an undisciplined mouth we can find
ourselves uttering forward things that we should not. God has much to say about
how He feels re a forward mouth: People say that God does not hate, perhaps
they haven’t yet read this verse:
The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and
arrogancy, and the evil way, and the forward mouth, do I hate – Psalms 8:13
Lets consider in a little detail as to how this works,
what it looks like - Such a demon that will create the illusion & delusion
along with all the physical and emotional feelings necessary of a FALSE love,
in order to fulfill a demonic agenda of destruction.
A Spirit of infatuation is typically a precursor to the
sins of idolatry, fornication, adultery and homosexuality & pedophilia.
Example
And it came to pass after this, that Absalom the son of
David had a fair sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of
David loved her.
A
driven spirit accompanied with physical feelings
2 And Amnon was so vexed, that he fell sick for his sister
Tamar; for she was a virgin;
and Amnon thought it hard for him to do any thing to her.
Infatuation
will readily manipulate & deceive to bring about its agenda
So Amnon lay down, and made himself sick: and when the
king was come to see him, Amnon said unto the king, I pray thee, let Tamar my
sister come, and make me a couple of cakes in my sight, that I may eat at her
hand. -2 Samuel 13:6
And when she had brought them unto him to eat, he
took hold of her, and said unto her, Come lie with me, my sister.
Will not reason
12 And she answered him, Nay, my brother, do not force me;
for no such thing ought to be done in Israel: do not thou this folly.
Demonic blind agenda
Howbeit he would not hearken unto her voice: but, being
stronger than she, forced her, and lay with her. -2 Samuel 13:14
Mission accomplished for the Spirit of infatuation
Then Amnon hated her exceedingly; so that the hatred
wherewith he hated her was greater than the love wherewith he had loved her.
And Amnon said unto her, Arise, be gone. -2 Samuel 13:15
Shockingly, as we read above, a hatred greater than the
false love can follow immediately after the demon has accomplished and switched
off plan A and then commences the second part of the strategy with plan B. What
devastation may follow from both direct and collateral damage of this
particular demon. Not just those immediately involved but their associated
friends & families.
Tamar's brother Absalom’s revenge
Now Absalom had commanded his servants, saying, Mark ye
now when Amnon's heart is merry with wine, and when I say unto you, Smite
Amnon; then kill him, fear not: have not I commanded you? be courageous, and be
valiant. -2 Samuel 13:28
As regards anything or anyone that we feel a strong
affection towards, the bible councils us strongly to investigate the origin of
any driven compulsion. We should not merely accept one of cupids (a demon by
the way) arrows as "ok" simply because it both looks and feels good.
Many lives and related lives have been destroyed by this covetous spirit.
Bible Warnings
Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your
own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you,
except ye be reprobates? -2 Corinthians 13:5
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. -1 Thess
5:21
Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits
whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the
world. -1 Jn 4:1
In closing – The keys to victory from the temptations of a spirit of
infatuation:
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of
life.
Put away from thee a froward
mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. Let thine eyes look right on, and
let thine eyelids look straight before thee – Prov 4:23-25
