Egypt: God is in the Battleground | 320 | Report 5 4th Oct 13
Egypt, is the heart of the Arab World. If we want to reach our world, we must reach Egypt. For this reason, we must look beyond the battleground playing out on the nightly news and see the immense spiritual struggle it represents. Egypt has the most influential media in the Muslim world. The most prolific Islamic writers, the most popular thinkers, and the most influential Islamic university (Al Azhar) are found there. Yet the revolution currently unfolding is an unprecedented awakening that Islam is not the answer. During the reign of radical Islam in Egypt, the following has taken place: • The church in Egypt has united in fervent prayer • Egyptian Christians are bolder than ever in preaching the Gospel • More Muslims are receiving Christ than at any time in history • An eyewitness reported witnessing more than 300 Muslims turning to Jesus and being baptized One year of Islamic rule in Egypt has caused millions in this magnificent nation to recognize that there is no life, peace, justice or joy in Islam. Now is the time for us to engage in Egypt, the Arab World, the Muslim World and unreached peoples everywhere. The church must respond by fervent prayer and intentional deployment. We do not pray for or against any political faction; we pray that God would be glorified and the Gospel beautified. If men and women of this great nation are willing to shed their blood to defend their competing ideologies, how much more should the Church of Jesus Christ be willing to shed ours that millions of Egyptians will hear a witness of Jesus and be welcomed into His loving family? The ugliness and depravity of man only elevate what God has done in Christ. Source: Assemblies of God World Missions BIBLE STUDY: Isaiah 19:22-25 |
